Mahogany Springs Safari Lodge takes its name from the 400 year old mahogany tree that towers majestically above the lodge gardens. It is situated in the South Western corner of Uganda, offering impressive views of the natural surrounds. Accommodation at the lodge consists of superior suites containing twin, double or triple capabilities. Each Suite has a uniquely designed terrace with a panoramic view of the stunning surrounds. A presidential Suite is also on offer to guests with the minimum of three people required.
Two bedrooms and two en-suite bathrooms are in this suite combined with a large private terrace overlooking the river and facing the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park offers best gorilla tours. The main area of Mahogany Springs is also expertly designed including a dining area, lounge and bar with a panoramic terrace. The lodge bar can provide guests with a wide variety of wines and beverages along with the in-house restaurant offering an array of worldly cuisine.

This small lodge is situated overlooking the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, close to the Munyanga River. All of the rooms are suite, most are superior suites and there is one presidential suite which has two en-suite bedrooms, making it ideal for families. The superior suites are all spacious with large glass doors leading onto a balcony where you can relax and enjoy the views. All have mosquito nets around the beds and a spacious en-suite bathroom with shower.
The main lodge has tall ceilings with a thatch roof, a large terrace where breakfast is served, and a dining room with fireplaces. There is also a gift shop as well as a lounge area with a library of books, portable DVD players and a DVD library and board games. Meals are a la carte and afternoon tea with freshly baked cakes and pastries is served each afternoon – ideal after a long day trekking to see the gorillas. As well as the obvious attraction of visiting the mountain gorillas, there are other excursions to fill your days here. These include guided bird walks, nature walks, visits to the lodge’s vegetable garden or a visit to the Batwa pygmy community nearby.
All the rooms are spacious with large double doors which open on to a private deck with views overlooking the forest. The superior suites can all take an extra bed, however for families or small groups, the Presidential/ Family suite offers more space with two en-suite bedrooms and a spacious living area. There is also one honeymoon suite which is a little larger than the standard suites and has a bathtub in addition to a shower.
